Starting this contest much later than last year, but still comparatively early as far as the history of this contest goes. We've also already two 2025 Masterworks revealed both from January. So before more 2025 Masterworks get spoiled, let's jump into the competition! PROCEED WITH CAUTION IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO BE SPOILED FOR JANUARY 2025!
THE RULES
Rule #1: Each player will list TWENTY (20) guesses for what they believe to be the most likely REMAINING 2024 Marvel Masterworks. DO NOT LIST KA-ZAR VOL. 4 or DOCTOR STRANGE VOL. 11 in your guesses. They will be TWO freebie points that everyone will receive! If you waste any of your twenty guesses on them, you will be wasting potential points!
Rule #2: Players will rank the books IN ORDER OF PREDICTED LIKELIHOOD, rather than where you think the books will fall monthly. If you think, beyond a shadow of a doubt that US 1 Vol. 1 is the most likely Marvel Masterwork of the year, you will place that book at position number one. Numbers two through nineteen will descend in predicted likelihood from there.
Rule #3: Players will be awarded a point for each correct selection that is ranked at the slots equal to and less than the number of Marvel Masterworks released. For example, if there are eighteen (18) Masterworks released (as has recently been the case) then only the selections you've made in positions #1-18 will count toward your point total. Alternatively, if there were only, say, six (6) Masterworks released (Galactus forbid!) then only selections #1-6 will be counted. As we work our way through the year, players will be awarded confirmed points (points that are guaranteed based on the number of books already confirmed for the year) and pending points (points that could be awarded if the number of books released in 2024 hits the same or higher number as the guessed rank). Ka-Zar Vol. 4 and Doctor Strange Vol. 11 will NOT BE included in the count of volumes for the year. Thus, the February Masterwork will be counted as the first of the year. What this means is that if we get our usual eighteen volumes in 2024, then ONLY YOUR FIRST SIXTEEN guesses will be possible confirmed votes. Again, this is because everyone will be getting two free points for the January Masterworks.
Rule #4: The player with the most points wins! If there is a tie, then the tie-breaker will be decided in the following way:
- TIE-BREAKER 1: Pending points. A fairly straightforward tie-breaker, if there are two contestants tied for first, but one of them had a correct guess low on their list in the pending point section, then they will be awarded first prize. If there is still a tie after this then...
- TIE-BREAKER 2: Guess the DECEMBER 2025 Masterworks. Whether there is one or two Masterworks that month, you get TWO GUESSES for the DECEMBER 2025 Masterwork. Again, points in this category will only be rewarded if there is a tie for first place AND if there is still a tie after tie-breaker 1. If there is still a tie after tie-breaker 2, then there will be an extra complicated third tie-breaker which I will announce if things come to that.

Omar kind of switched things up quite a bit this year in terms of how he scheduled his Masterworks announcements, so there's honestly no telling when we might learn what February 2024 will be. All the more reason to vote early!
